Eduardo Rodrigues Wins Event #20: $1,500 MONSTER STACK NLH

Brazil’s Eduardo “Ghazbaran” Rodrigues wins his first WSOP gold bracelet in Event #20: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em ‘Monster Stack’ freezeout. The 2021 GGPoker WSOP Online bracelet series attracted total 1,080 participants for a $1,539,000 prize pool, with the winner receiving $212,815.

The final day began with 24 players remaining and Jerecho Caballero in the lead. Sammartino and Rodrigues were both among the top five when play resumed. Rodrigues overtook the top spot in the standings by the time the final table was set, with Sammartino hot on his heels. Sammartino earned three of the first five knockouts at the final table to leapfrog Rodrigues. He cracked the pocket aces of Renato Valentim (5th – $67,278) with his pocket sevens to narrow the field to four competitors.

Rodrigues won a sizable pot with quads to keep within striking distance of the top spot. Thomas Harvey’s run in this event came to an end when he got all-in on a QClub Suit9Heart Suit6Club Suitflop with QDiamond Suit10Diamond Suit, only to find himself at risk against the QSpade SuitJClub Suit of Jerecho Caballero. Harvey found no help on the turn or river and was knocked out in fourth place ($89,743).

Despite earning that elimination, Caballero was ultimately the shortest stack when the final hand of the tournament arose. Caballero moved all-in from the button for 8,777,326 with AHeart Suit3Spade Suit. Sammartino three-bet jammed for 19,836,916 holding 10Heart Suit10Diamond Suit out of the small blind. Rodrigues looked down at ASpade SuitQSpade Suit in the big blind and made the call to put both of his opponents at risk . The board came down ADiamond Suit4Club Suit2Heart Suit7Heart Suit6Heart Suit to give Rodrigues a double knockout to secure the title. Caballero earned $119,674 as the third-place finisher, while Sammartino took home $159,588 as the runner-up.
