On May 13th, 2018 Valentin Vornicu won his record 11th gold ring by taking down the WSOP at Harrah’s New Orleans in Event #1: $365 No-Limit Hold’em Re-Entry. Just over a day later, Val Vornicu extended his lead by winning his 12th World Series of Poker Circuit gold ring title.
For the second of his back-to-back wins, the 34-year-old Vornicu defeated a field of 349 entries to win $24,084 in addition to his latest gold ring.
After the win, Vornicu said “What is there to say? Right now, I’m just super tired and super happy. Also, is this real? Is this real?”
Valentin Vornicu said, “I’ve never won back-to-back tournaments. Definitely not live. Maybe online, but usually after I win a tournament live, the next one I play I just bust before the first break.”
