2017 WSOPE: Germans Dominate €25,000 NLHE High Roller After Day 1

German trio leads the €25,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em High Roller Event at the 2017 World Series of Poker Europe after Day 1 action.

Philipp “philbort” Gruissem ended the opening day with the chip lead and is closely trailed by Claas Segebrecht and Rainer Kempe, both from Germany also. Gruissem will be a strong favorite to win the title with almost $11 million in total live tournament earnings and having won several high-stakes tournaments with buy-ins of $25,000 or more.

At the moment, the total number of entries for the 2017 WSOPE €25K NLHE High Roller shows 104. However, the registration will remain open until the start of Day 2, so the final number of entries is expected to be rise.

In addition to the German pros, 40 other top pros made it through the Day 1, including the likes of Igor Kurganov, Patrik Antonius, Sam Trickett, Bertrand Grospellier and Ole Schemion.
